Elkton Charter School in Douglas County serves about 65 students in the Umpqua Valley in Oregon, and offers a catalog of Advanced Placement coursework usually reserved for schools many times its size. Classes stay small, so a teacher knows every student's name on the first day. College credit before you graduate.

Chapter 07 · Questions
You probably want
to know first.
Certified teachers using the College Board's audited AP curriculum, the same one taught at AP schools nationwide, plus dual credit through Umpqua Community College. Classes are small, so a teacher sees each student two or three times a day and can actually support them through the hard parts.
Most students can do far more than they think. College Board research shows students who take AP are more likely to go on to a four-year college, even when they score a 1 or 2. The benefit is in taking the class, not acing the exam, and we welcome students in rather than gate them out.
A score of 3 or higher earns credit or placement at most colleges, and nearly all U.S. colleges grant credit for qualifying scores. AP exam fees are $99, far less than a comparable college course, and reduced for students who qualify for fee assistance.
